At first glance, this may not have much to do with sustainability and environmental compatibility. After all, we process fine metal. And yet: We want to make a positive contribution to securing the future in a variety of ways. It starts with our clever packaging concept and extends to the green spaces that surround our company headquarters.
MINIMALIST PACKAGING
We want to make a positive contribution to the world in which we live. That is why we have taken care of a minimalist, sustainable - clever - design of our packaging. We do not use bleached cardboard boxes, labels or stickers or multicolored printing. We also analyzed which information is actually important for our trading partners. We decided to affix our article numbers so that they are clearly visible in order to facilitate acceptance, storage and administration.
A seal stuck over the corner of our new packaging has to be broken by the end customer the first time it is opened: an exclusive experience. For our trading partners, this approach has the advantage that it can be seen several times what exactly is in the box. The quality term “Handmade in Germany” must be printed on for export to various export markets, otherwise the product may not be imported everywhere. We also want to ensure that as little or no transport damage as possible occurs. This could previously occur when our goods had room to move within the box due to their own weight. We rejected solutions such as filling the cavities with styrofoam or foam that adapts to the respective component.
We want to give our end customers a lasting positive feeling when opening, in other words: unboxing. A semi-automatic stretch wrapper allows our sometimes complex unique items to be packaged in a contemporary way. At the same time, we can ensure that absolutely nothing moves on the transport route. When opening the box, our end customer sees his personal Eisenmann product. In addition, the resulting plastic content is the lowest of all packaging methods. We have chosen particularly high-quality cardboard boxes with the highest material thickness in order to be able to exclude transport damage as comprehensively as possible. Conclusion: For us, zeitgeist does not start with the Eisenmann product itself, but rather with the environmentally neutral, transport-safe packaging design. From 17 to three (packaging sizes): You cannot buy our cardboard boxes and carrier elements anywhere - except from us, of course!
Our cardboard boxes and carrier elements are made of paper and glue. And nothing else. We have been testing our investment in the clever, contemporary packaging process since July 2018. This does not only apply to the secure fixing of our products before transport, but above all to compliance with all selected recycling routes.
We have a contractual relationship with the specialist company Landbell and report to a central packaging register both the planned quantities for the coming year and the final quantities for the past year. This results in a neutral comparison and we are authorized to officially use the Landbell logo.
In addition, we always produce unique items to order. We do not have any stock items and offer so-called "drop shipping". That means: Even if one of our trading partners within Germany passes on a customer order to us, we send it directly to the end customer, even though the trading partner is our first point of contact. In this way, we reduce and optimize avoidable transport routes and thus make a further contribution to avoiding emissions.
Conclusion: We have the good feeling that we have made an equally good choice. This is confirmed by three ISO environmental certifications for the producer of our sustainably manufactured cardboard boxes: ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 50001: 2011.
