THE icing on the cake – OUR STORY ABOUT THE G8X M3/M4

m4

The story of the G8X M3/M4 got off to a polarizing start - camps of BMW loyalists were unsure what to make of the new car's radical, futuristic styling.

But the sheer driving pleasure that BMW stands for soon made the different tastes in terms of design appear insignificant. Despite all their electronics, the new G8X M3/M4 offer a pure driving experience: a technical masterpiece! As extremely powerful models, they only leave something to be desired in one area: the exhaust system.

We, Eisenmann Exhaust Systems GmbH, were the only manufacturer of sporty exhaust systems to be part of every M generation. This long tenure has taught us two things: first, an in-depth knowledge of BMW production methods, and second, the engineering skill to translate passion into an aural experience.

Our work on the new G8X M3/M4 sport muffler is no exception. Despite all the challenges that a turbocharged engine poses in terms of producing rich, sonorous sound, we found a way to achieve just that. The 1.4301 stainless steel canisters have a deep-drawn design: where the stock muffler is unflatteringly visible from the rear, Eisenmann's is neatly hidden underneath.

Stiffening ribs along each muffler serve to dampen structure-borne noise and thereby not disturb the characteristic Eisenmann tone. As a holdover from the successful F8X M3/M4 system, the capital “e” of our logo is embossed on each silencer – the icing on the cake, so to speak. The factory valve timings are retained, allowing the rider to switch between open and closed positions based on preference.

The exhaust note plays a key role in further improving the already excellent driving experience. It retains its special sound over the entire speed range: the bassy idling tones, which hardly penetrate the cabin when the valves are closed, get along wonderfully with the mechanical whining beyond 7000 rpm with the valves open.

Compared to the F8X systems, the G8X variant is characterized by its simplicity when it comes to tailpipes. There are currently three options: aluminum, black aluminum and carbon. Our new double-walled design is 110mm in diameter and features a unique side cut-out. The 'Signature Sidecut', nominated for the German Design Award, is a further development of the Signature tailpipes that were introduced six years earlier and have enjoyed great popularity. The new design detail immediately stands out from other facilities and complements the impressive proportions of the new M3/M4.

The conclusion from us and our dealers: The combination of the new G8X M3/M4 with the exhaust system from Eisenmann Exhaust Systems offers an emotional driving experience that we can be proud of.
