Hemmingen, April 10, 2022 - It's been about a year since Eisenmann Exhaust Systems - today a brand of S&R Eisenmann GmbH - presented the new exhaust system for the BMW X5M and X6M. Sonorous sound made in Germany, which also sounds pleasant in the vehicle interior, is now available for the X5 M50i and the SUV coupe X6 M50i: The slightly smaller brothers wear their "i" as a tribute to the late seventies, as the addition " injection" differentiated engines with injection systems from those with carburetors, and - initially with the BMW 320i - pointed out their special sportiness.
The Hemminger factory provided both vehicles with an exhaust system with less back pressure than intended by the factory. The rear silencers have a flap control with two flaps. The result is better flow, less heat build-up and more power.
The rear muffler has chrome tips with a diameter of one hundred millimeters. Double-walled, they bear the embossing of an 'e', which is typical for Eisenmann. "Thanks to an inclined section of 20 degrees, our tips integrate perfectly into the rear of the BMW X5 M50i and X6 M50i," Eisenmann CAD designer Robert Szabadkai explains the appearance of the new sporty exhaust system.
The sports rear muffler for the BMW X5 M50i and BMW X6 M50i have an EC type approval and are therefore street legal.
