BMW M3/M4 xDrive: Eisenmann closes the design gap

Hemmingen, May 5th, 2022 - The current generations G80 (BMW M3) and G82 (BMW M4) offer everything that makes the heart of "Bimmer" fans beat faster: pure driving dynamics thanks to turbo engines with the highest level of comfort. Eisenmann Exhaust Systems, a brand of S&R Eisenmann GmbH, is now also launching the matching sports exhaust system for xDrive models: Eisenmann’s system has been available for rear-wheel drive M3 and M4 since autumn 2021.

"The really only shortcoming of the otherwise perfect G8X series is the look and sound of the exhaust systems," says Sarah Eisenmann, head of the marketing and sales department of the family company. She explains: “The standard muffler hangs visibly under the car – unflattering, our customers find. Our designer Robert Szabadkai therefore paid particular attention to developing a really beautiful system - with great attention to detail, right down to the type plate."

The perfect fit of the T304 stainless steel canisters in the installation space was achieved thanks to a deep-drawn construction with cross braces that match the stiffening ribs. The Eisenmann system is thus neatly hidden under the vehicle, matches the look of the four tips and also scores with a third less exhaust back pressure for better performance.

In order to emphasize the proportions of the vehicles, the double-walled tips have grown to 110 millimeters and are therefore ten millimeters larger than the standard equipment. They have the side cutout called 'Signature Sidecut', which won the German Design Award 2022 - optionally in carbon, aluminum or black anodized.

The stiffening ribs of the silencers with the typical Eisenmann 'e' embossed dampen structure-borne noise and preserve the characteristic Eisenmann tone across the entire speed range, which the manufactory can coax out of a turbo engine thanks to three decades of BMW experience. The factory flap control can still be used as usual, allowing the rider to switch between open and closed positions to suit their taste.

The sports rear silencers for the G8X models with four-wheel drive have an EC operating permit and are therefore approved for the road.
